莲社村是怀集县连麦镇中部的行政村，邻近福鹿、仓社、王华三村。[1]村名来自莲塘、社山两个村，高级社成立时各取一字。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

建制的变迁大致如下：高级社（1955年）、大队（1958年）、乡（1981年）、村委会（1987年）、管理区（1989年），至1998年成为村民委员会；高级社时期的名称为莲社。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

村里有500户、2828人，分属21个经济合作社。土地方面，耕地1320亩，含水田1100亩和旱地220亩，山林8000亩，辖区合计6645亩；农林业是村民与村集体的主要收入来源。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，莲社村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位；2023年4月，列入「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位；2026年1月，获评「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」。[1]
