钱排镇在广东省茂名市信宜市的东北部，南邻高州市，北与洪冠镇相连，镇政府设在钱排街，下设1个社区和15个行政村，辖区面积204.91平方千米[1]。2019年末户籍人口为77084人[1]；按第七次全国人口普查，常住人口约4.89万人[6]。镇内以种植三华李闻名，另有省级文物保护单位凌十八故居[8]。

历史沿革[edit]

明万历三年（1575年），这一带归信宜县从善都[5]。清光绪十五年（1889年）分属马贵堡的星平、星聚、安民、民聚四甲，民国二十九年（1940年）为信宜县第四区马贵西乡[5]。1952年12月设信宜县第十三区，后称钱排区；1957年1月改为钱排乡，1958年秋并入白石公社，次年（1959年）又从白石分出，成立钱排公社[5]。

1961年11月起，钱排区管辖钱排、钱新、达桐、竹地四个公社；1963年1月四社合并，仍称钱排公社。1983年冬，公社改为区，1986年区再改为镇，即今钱排镇[5]。

地名由来[edit]

钱排得名有两种说法：一说镇上长期开设钱庄，便于外地客商兑换钱币；一说钱排垌的地形像古时成排串扎的铜钱，上尖、中细、下圆[7]。

地理环境[edit]

钱排镇距信宜市区44公里[4]，东与平塘、合水两镇交界，西与大成、白石两镇毗邻[1]。全镇有山林22万亩，水电站已建成18座，装机容量合计17155千瓦（据博雅地名网转载的镇情介绍，未注明年份）[4]。云开村与罗定市分界镇之间的龙须顶海拔1327米，属云开大山山脉，主峰形似狮子，又称龙狮顶，古称云罩山[10]。交通方面有云茂高速公路和359国道经过[2]。

经济[edit]

三华李是镇上的主要产业。信宜三华李于1974年由翁源县三华镇引入钱排镇种植[11]。据镇情介绍，三华李种植约5万亩，年产量在1.5万吨以上；反季节蔬菜每年种植1.2万亩以上；此外有乡镇企业398家，涉及水电、玉雕、农机具修造、编织等行业（该介绍未注明年份）[4]。当地人外出淘金者多，流传「中国有黄金的地方就有钱排人」的说法，钱排因此被称为「淘金之乡」[4]。

2013年7月，农业部将钱排镇列入「第三批全国一村一品示范村镇」，项目为银妃三华李；2017年，它被广东省林业厅认定为森林小镇；2019年12月进入首批广东省旅游风情小镇名单。农业农村部又先后在2021年10月和2023年3月，把它推介为「全国乡村特色产业产值超十亿元镇」[6]。2023年11月，钱排镇进入广东「百千万工程」首批典型县镇村名单[6]。

名胜古迹[edit]

凌十八故居在北内村塘坳，是清道光年间所建的土木结构二进四合院，占地约251平方米，于2002年7月纳入「第四批广东省文物保护单位」[8][12]。凌十八（1819年—1852年）名才锦，生于此地，1850年率众起义，1852年战败殉难[9]。

百度百科的镇条目另列掘垌驿遗址、白马平为景点[1]，这两处尚未查到专门资料。
