洪冠村为茂名市信宜市洪冠镇所辖的行政村之一，在镇境东南部。村名与镇名同源，来自「红观」的传说：东面有狮子头山和象山，樵夫砍断两山之间的粗藤，藤中流出红水七天，染红河水，人称此地为红观，后按当地方言谐音写作洪冠。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期归大樟区，新中国成立前称洪冠乡。洪冠大队设于1958年，1983年建洪冠乡政府，1999年定为洪冠村民委员会。[1]

经济[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，全村辖38个村民小组，在册737户、3759人，耕地1581亩。种植的作物有水稻、木薯、玉米、花生、益智，另以益智作为特色产业。[1]
