凤岗村在信宜市东镇街道西北部，原名横岗[1]。

地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，辖区内原有一条大河，河中有山横挡流水，故名横岗；后来因一处土冲四周有六个形似鸡的山头，改称凤岗[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

此地自1958年起为横岗大队，其后至1983年改称凤岗乡，再到1987年设村民委员会，又于1989年称管理区办事处，至1999年重称村民委员会[1]。

经济[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，村分37个村民小组，登记820户，人口3330人，总面积约12平方千米，耕地860亩；种水稻、荔枝，养鸡，并饲养一种名为郑氏南兔的家兔，其上一年农村经济总收入为1133万元[1]。

荣誉[edit]

凤岗村于2023年5月被广东省爱卫会评为「2022年广东省卫生村」[1]。
