平定镇是广东省茂名市化州市北部的镇，镇域东面与那务镇、播扬镇相接，南面是合江镇和廉江市石角镇，西面隔界与广西陆川县清湖镇、古城镇相邻，北面是文楼镇，总面积216.8平方千米。[1]下辖1个社区和24个行政村。[1]2019年末户籍人口132082人。[1]镇名来自明代在此设立的「平定堡」，取平定瑶兵、山寇之意。[2]这里是化橘红的主产区，2019年进入全国农业产业强镇建设名单。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，化州西北与广西的北流、陆川相连，古时山高林密，常有瑶兵、山寇潜入劫掠。明代中期，朝廷在扼守两广交通的化州博二都设堡驻兵，取平定瑶兵、山寇之意，称「平定堡」；后来博二都驻地平安圩也改称平定圩，平定镇的名称即由此而来。[2]

明清两代，这里为化州博二都，隶罗肥乡。[3]民国十七年，即1928年，化县把区公所设在平定圩，成立第六区，下辖17乡，范围约合明清博一都、博二都旧地，也就是后来的平定、文楼两镇；其中属今平定镇的有平定、平南、翰堂、平山、沙坡、大车及大旺垌六乡。[3]1942年改为平定、南垌、南大、山底4个乡，隶化县第二区。[3]

新中国成立后的建制变化如下：1958年9月成立平定人民公社；其后几经区、社更替（1961年、1963年、1983年），1987年2月撤区建镇。[1][3]到2020年6月，全镇有1个社区、24个行政村。[1]维基百科另记，境内的新华农场在化州市属类似乡级的单位。[4]

平定镇位于化州市北部，气候为亚热带季风气候。[1]据博雅地名网，镇域毗邻湛江市和广西玉林市，处在高州、廉江、北流、陆川的交汇地带，交通便利，该网称其为化州北部以至粤桂边区的经济、文化与交通中心；该网还称镇内钛矿储量达700万吨，高岭土和白石合计2000万吨。[2]平定圩的城镇面积为5.3平方千米。[2]

户籍人口方面，2019年末统计为132082人。[1]据博雅地名网引第七次全国人口普查的结果（2020年），镇人口为9.12万人，在化州市各街道乡镇中居第2位。[2]

经济[edit]

2019年全镇税收收入2596.1万元，比上年增长36.1%；生产总值43.25亿元，增长8.7%，农业产值25.6亿元，工业产值8.34亿元。[1]

平定镇是化州化橘红的主产区。[5]农业部在2016年7月把平定镇（化橘红）列入「第六批全国一村一品示范村镇」；2019年7月进入当年的建设名单；2023年8月，农业农村部、财政部公布的「首批国家农业产业强镇」中，平定镇（化橘红）在列。[2]2023年3月，平定镇列入「广东省2022年度休闲农业与乡村旅游示范镇」；2022年1月，获「2021年度广东省卫生城镇」称号。[2]

据光明网2025年报道，平定镇一家种植专业合作社成立于2017年，与农户签订保底收购协议，采用「合作社＋公司＋产业协会＋村委会＋农户」的经营模式；积田村的大岭一带举办了赏花、直播带货等活动。[5]各村的主要作物，另见各村词条：沉香、蚕桑、速生林、香蕉等都有种植。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

三乐学堂在平定镇旺洞管理区（博雅地名网写法），始建于明嘉靖四十四年（1565年），是明代举人陈宗礼讲学的地方，青砖青瓦，土木结构，坐北向南，共二进，占地约6000平方米。学堂名取《孟子·尽心上》的「三乐」。清宣统年间改称三乐学校，民国时又改称三乐小学堂；1943年，军人陈沛（时任国民党64军军长）题匾赠校。此后校舍有所扩建（1991年新建640平方米），学校易名旺洞小学。[6]
