该页的沿革记述，由近及远是：1999年起沿称木威塘村民委员会（该页历史一栏中此名一处误作“木威糖”）；1989年称木威塘管理区办事处；1987年2月设木威塘村民委员会；1983年改为木威塘乡；1962年笪桥公社成立，本村为木威塘大队；1952年土改时归杨梅区，同西埇管理区合为西埇乡。[1]
