该页的沿革记述，由近及远是：1999年起沿称西埇村民委员会；1989年称西埇管理区办事处；1987年设西埇村民委员会；1983年改称西埇乡；其后笪桥公社成立，仍称西埇大队；1958年起属良光公社，称西埇大队；1952年土改时属杨梅管理区，其西边为木威塘，两处合并为西塘乡。[1]
