该页的沿革记述，由近及远是：1999年起沿称大沙田村民委员会；1989年称大沙田管理区办事处；1987年设大沙田村民委员会；1983年改为大沙田乡；1962年归新成立的笪桥公社；1958年公社化时属良光公社，高朗、木棉垌、大沙田为三个大队；1952年土改时属杨梅管理区。[1]
