良光镇在广东省茂名市化州市的西南部，面积约108平方千米，下设1个社区和17个行政村，镇政府设在良光社区。镇名取自镇上的良光圩，含良好时光之意。1987年由乡改镇；2021年，良光镇因甘蔗产业入选省级专业镇。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1932年（民国二十一年），今镇域分属七个乡：良光、东埇、东岸、雅道、礼车，以及茅山分上下两乡；它们都归化县第三区管。[3]到1953年改为良光、出拔、石东三乡，化县第三区也在这一年设立，区政府驻在良光圩。[3]

1958年9月建良光人民公社；1961年撤社设区，1963年1月复社；1983年10月再次撤社设区，1986年底区让位于乡，次年（1987年）乡升格为镇。[3]

地理环境[edit]

镇域东面是杨梅镇，南面隔吴川市塘缀镇，西面连官桥镇和廉江市良坷镇，北面靠河西街道、石湾街道，并与下郭街道相连。[1]气候属亚热带季风气候。[1]博雅地名网的村级页面载有当地年平均气温22.5度、年降雨量约1772.1毫米的数字。[2]

2019年末，全镇户籍人口80863人。[1]据第七次全国人口普查，2020年的常住人口为5.66万人，在化州市各街道乡镇中居第8位。[2]镇辖一个社区和17个行政村，其中包括良光村、塘贡村、长安村和斋塘坡村。[1][5]

经济[edit]

镇境内有广湛高速、河茂铁路、207国道和水塘公路通过。[4]农业上，岭地种果树和速生林，并种甘蔗，坡地种花生，田里种玉米、香蕉和桑蚕。[4]据该页所述，2003年全镇新引进企业项目15个，投资合计3100多万元，第二、三产业增加值6.58亿元，比上年增长7.3%。[4]

百度百科记，2019年全镇规模以上工业总产值4.2亿元，固定资产投资1亿元。[1]同年9月，省农业农村厅公布「第三批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业镇」，良光镇凭甘蔗入列。[1][2]村一级，塘贡村同月以萝卜入选省级专业村。[2]各村的种养特色见各村条目，如豺岭、龙秀、斋塘坡一带种黄瓜、萝卜并加工咸菜。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

斋塘坡村内保存着解放战争时期化吴中心县委开会的旧址，已被列为化州市县级文保单位（第四批）。[2]
