大西村的村名，是沿用所在行政区域的名称而来。[1]

1959年马贵公社成立时设大西大队，1983年改乡，1986年改农村管理区，1999年后为村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2022年10月，被广东省农业农村厅认定为“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村，主打三华李。[1]

2019年10月入选广东省卫生村名录。[1]
