山心村的名称取意于村庄坐落在四周山岭环抱之中。[1]
1962年马贵公社设山心大队，1983年称管理区并改乡，1986年改农村管理区，1999年改称村民委员会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2022年10月，被广东省农业农村厅认定为“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村，主打杨梅。[1]
2019年，先是9月进入省民主法治示范村（社区）创建名单，10月又入选卫生村名录。[1]
