据博雅地名网所载，村由高山垌和樟坑村组成，各取一字为名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

高章在1961年体制下放后立为大队，1983年称高章乡，1986年起称农村管理区，1999年设村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年9月，高章村进入广东省农业农村厅公布的第二批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单（优质稻）；2021年12月，获「广东省卫生村」称号（广东省爱卫会，2021年12月）。[1]
