据博雅地名网所载，村名各取高望、和平两村的一个字合成。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
高和高级社由和平、高望两社于1956年合并而成，1958年以后归大同公社高和管理区；1961年在石村公社下设高和大队，1963年并入石板后沿用此名；1983年称高和乡，1986年起称农村管理区，1999年设村民委员会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，高和被列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」；2021年12月，获「广东省卫生村」称号（广东省爱卫会，2021年12月）。[1]
