为民社区是广东省茂名市茂南区河东街道下辖的社区，城乡分类属主城区，名称取“为人民服务”之意，2012年1月设立居委会。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此前，为民路及其南巷1号大院、健康路北、为民路北巷东西两个小区，归茂石化公司的服务站管理，站内另设河东服务站点，二者合署办公。随着人口增加，2012年1月起撤销河东服务站，改设社区居委会，名称沿用至今。[1]

在2019年9月公布的名单中，为民社区被列为广东省2018年「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]
