河西街道是广东省茂名市茂南区下辖的街道，位于茂名旧城区中心，1981年7月设立，是茂名市区最早设立的街道之一。辖区约5.5平方千米，下辖金花、幸福、茂西、红旗中、厂前西、油城6个社区。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

茂名建市之初，城区只设一个街道，名为市区街道，后来先后改称市区街道工作管理办公室、城区工作办公室。1981年7月，市区分设5个街道，河西街道为其一。茂名市政府与茂南区政府都曾设在这一街道。[1]

街道名称的由来是：茂名建市后，以小东江为界，江西一侧称河西，江东一侧称河东，该街道位于小东江西岸，因此得名。[1]

据博雅地名网转录的街道概况，辖区以小东江为东界，油城路为南界，高岭为西界，金花街为北界，面积约5.5平方千米，处在旧城区的中心。[2]
