山瑶村位于广东省湛江市吴川市塘㙍镇东南部，是镇辖的一个行政村，下辖7条自然村、7个村民小组[1]。山瑶村是第五届全国文明村镇（2017年11月）之一[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

村级建制的变化如下：为山瑶乡（1950年）、改大队（1958年）、改小社（1961年）、复为大队（1964年）、析为山瑶、塘贡、等洒、黄垌、新水还、竹山等大队（1978年）、合并为山瑶大队（1982年）、改村民委员会（1983年）、称管理区办事处（1989年）、复称山瑶村民委员会（1999年）[1]。

据博雅地名网所载村情（未注明年份），村域总面积2.5平方公里，水田802亩、坡地410.42亩，合计耕地约1212.42亩，林木3500亩[2]。

村情记有总人口3448人，约720户，外出务工经商者700人（未注明年份）[2]。

村情称，该村属丘陵地带，主要种植水稻、花生、香蕉和玉米，兼营淡水养殖、产品加工与手工业；人均收入2500元（未注明年份）。村情另称，青年企业家龙观生带领村民兴办福利：1987年起每年拿出20万元救济特困户，2000年后投资60万元建山瑶农贸市场，另投400万元修筑长12公里的环村硬底化道路[2]。
