高杨社区在塘尾街道中部，居民多姓高、杨，故名；辖高屋、海乐、杨一、杨二4个居民小组，总人口5000多人[1][2]。

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立后称高杨大队，由高屋、杨屋两个村庄组成；到2002年改设高杨居民委员会，至今未变[1]。

经济[edit]

据博雅地名网，社区有耕地1325亩、林地654亩、虾塘1083亩；外出乡人捐资建起两座教学楼（合计1000多平方米）和一座建筑面积1900多平方米的文化楼，并修水泥路3公里，高屋建有500多平方米的敬老院[2]。2019年9月，社区名列「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单；2022年8月又被定为「2022年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位；2026年1月获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」[1]。
