沿革：以下由近及远：1999年设置村民委员会；1989年设置徐马管理区；1987年2月设置村委会；1983年设置徐马乡；1958年设置赤嵌大队；民国至1956年隶属于遂溪县沈塘第五区，设置徐马乡，后隶属于海康县徐马乡。[1]
