村名来历：「芙蓉」是古越语地名，意为洋（田），美称芙蓉。[1]
沿革：以下由近及远：1999年设置村民委员会；1987年2月设置管理区；1984年从北家分出，设置芙蓉乡；1983年设置北家乡；1962年设置北家大队；1956年隶属于榜山公社北家大队；1953年隶属于遂溪县榜山公社；民国后期至新中国成立后隶属于遂溪县沈塘乡。[1]
荣誉[edit]
芙蓉村以罗非鱼养殖列入广东省农业农村厅2020年8月公布的首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单。[1]
2019年9月，该村列入广东省2018年「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
