历史沿革[edit]

沿革：以下由近及远：1999年设置村民委员会；1989年设置英山管理区；1987年2月分设置英山村委会；1983年与榜山、电山、英山合并为榜山乡；1963年归英山大队；1961年划归海康县附城公社武黎大队；1959年划入遂溪县榜山公社英山大队；1911年至1957年隶属于遂溪县遂五区北门乡。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

英山南村的雷祖诞降处，唐代即有，是旧时「雷阳八景」之一「雷冈耸异」的中心。传说陈文玉的父亲在乌仑山打猎，拾得一枚后来孕育雷祖的「蛋」；雷祖「升天」后，子孙在此立庙奉祀。庙里留有「蛋窟」、「雷岗耸异」牌坊，以及北宋丁谓所撰《重建威德王庙碑》等。雷州市于1994年9月将其列为文物保护单位。[2]
