公益村是雷州市纪家镇的行政村，也是公益圩所在地。村名出自清宣统三年（1911年）拔贡梁成久为当地集市所取的「公益市」，此前集市叫「新市」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1948年设公益乡，1950年组织互助组，1951年办初级社，1953年办高级社；1958年成立公益公社和公益生产大队，1984年设公益乡，1987年2月设公益村委会，1989年称公益管理区，1999年定名公益村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，公益村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

公益圩旁有公益窑，是宋元时期的龙窑遗址，1984年发现，1986年发掘，1992年由海康县人民政府公布为文物保护单位。窑残长18.7米，出土碗、盘、碟、炉、壶、罐、枕等青白釉或酱褐釉瓷器，以釉下褐彩最有特色。[2]
