历史沿革[edit]

关于村名，地名资料的说法是：村委会驻地位于石角街的东面。[2]沿革方面：1951年为潭活行政村，此后1953年为石角乡，此后1958年为石角大队，此后1982年改为石东大队，此后1983年春设石东村民委员会，此后同年称石东乡，此后1986年称石东管理区，此后1999年改为石东村委会。[1]

经济[edit]

村中种养的有水稻、玉米、蔬菜、水果和速生桉，荔枝产量较多；有木材加工、运输、酿酒等副业。[1]该页载耕地933亩、山地5196亩。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年9月入选广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村第二批名单（红橙）；另有2019年9月进入2018年度广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位之列。[1]
