和安社区是广东省湛江市徐闻县和安镇下辖的社区，博雅地名网将其城乡分类定为镇中心区。[1]

地名由来[edit]

此地明清时属徐闻县锦囊社，因雨水多而叫「上水」村。清末民初徐闻土匪为患，上水村荒废，村民四散；30年代后期匪患平息，旧村民陆续返乡复建。据说1935年重办和安墟时，由老街绅士陈永清带头筹建，人们希望墟市建成后平安无事，遂名「和安」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

社区的前身是1961年成立的居民大队，管理一部分非农业人口和国企分流人员。1984年起一度并入和安村委会，1998年再从中分出，成立和安社区居民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
