名称来历：办事处靠近湛川路，由此得名。[1]
建制变迁：1950年为欧村乡，1953年起先后为欧村初级社、高级社，1958年编为欧村大队，1983年设湛川管理区，1986年改居委会，1999年改居民委员会，2002年起称湛川社区居民委员会。[1]
