沙城村是广东省湛江市坡头区乾塘镇下辖的行政村，村民委员会设在沙城村。2026年1月获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」[1]。

地名由来[edit]

村子东边有一道天然沙堤，又高又宽，像一座城墙，沙城之名由此而来[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立前，这里属吴川县滨海区南二乡；1950年前后属吴川县第八区三合乡。1958年成为湛江市郊区坡头公社下的沙城渔业大队，1963年先分为沙城、梁圩两个渔业大队又合并，并接收了从南寨大队划出的和平村，划归乾塘公社[1][2]。

1978年8月，沙城渔业大队分作沙城、梁圩、和平3个渔业大队；1981年改称沙城管委会；1983年5月3个管委会合并为沙城乡，属乾塘区公所。1987年起称沙城村委会，1990年改沙城管理区，1999年3月成立沙城村民委员会，沿用至今[2]。

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，沙城村列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单；2022年8月再次被确定为当年的创建单位；2026年1月获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」[1]。
