麻西是湛江市坡头区南调街道的社区。当地人旧时把坡头圩以西一带泛称为麻水，此地在麻水之西，故名麻西。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

最早的组织是1949年11月建立的麻西农协会。吴川县第八区之下，它在1954年成为麻西乡；人民公社化时期先编为营，1959年定名大队，并在这一年划出林口另立一队。[1]1960年代初，大队先后隶属麻东公社和坡头公社。[1]进入1980年代，称乡，并随街道的建立而归南调街道，1987年起叫村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

榜单发布于2019年9月，麻西社区名列「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」。[1]
