甫草村是广东省台山市川岛镇下辖的行政村，在川岛镇大陆部分的东端，南面是广海湾，北面靠山。2003年川岛镇成立后，甫草村由广海镇改属川岛镇。[1] 村子离去上、下川岛的山咀港不远，镇里把它作为生态宜居美丽乡村的示范村来建设，2023年以来又被评为广东省「百千万工程」典型村。[2][3]

地理环境[edit]

村域面积约9平方千米。东边以甫草迳的鸡罩山与广海镇分界，西边与山咀村相连，下辖7条自然村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

鸡罩山临海的地方有一处新石器时代的沙丘遗址，发现于1982年11月21日。[1]

经济[edit]

甫草半农半渔。田里种水稻、番薯、花生和蔬菜，镇政府称这里是川岛的主要产粮区之一；饲养的禽畜以鸡和牛为主。[1] 村里有咸围三千多亩，海上养殖面积约四千亩，产生蚝和鱼虾蟹；村内的沙石资源也较多。[1]

据南方日报2022年的报道，甫草村规划了一片休闲生态园区，把荷花塘、蔬果采摘基地、「鱼藕共作」的养殖塘和荔枝龙眼果园连成一条游览路线，村里的房屋外墙也画上了墙绘。[2] 南方都市报2026年报道，村里在林下种植油甘子，年产量约1800公斤。[3]
