沥中社区原为沥中村，在大沥镇中北部，是城区与乡村的交接地带，广云公路、广佛公路穿过，全村面积约1.64平方公里。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
民国时属大沥四堡乡。新中国成立初，沥中与联滘、凤池合为沥中乡；1958年人民公社化，沥中成为一个生产大队，1963年联滘、凤池分出去；1983年设立沥中乡人民政府。[1]
此后名称屡变：1987年为沥中村民委员会，1989年改称管理区，1997年复称村民委员会。2011年“村改居”，撤销村民委员会，成立沥中居民委员会。[1]
人口民族[edit]
共十个村民小组，依次是漖心、竹冠、周合、黄合、卢合、陈边、李潘、江步、邓西、邓南，另有四个工业区；户籍1409户，4102人，外来务工经商者约四千五百人。[1]
经济[edit]
2009年，村经联社和集团公司合计收入约2666万元（利润2418万元），各村小组收入约2617万元（利润2454万元）。[1]
