沥北社区的前身是沥北村，处大沥镇北端，北邻狮山镇和里水镇，总面积约2786亩，下分7个自然村和17个村民小组。[1]
经济[edit]
村内耕地有1500亩，2009年全村工农业总产值约9.5亿元，村组两级总收入5985万元。常住约5400人（农业人口4855人）。[1]
农业以种养为主；工业门类有婴儿用品、服装、餐具、五金压铸、不锈钢加工、卫浴、金属回收和铝合金型材。联江路、沥雅路一带的铺位经改造，桂江农产品综合批发市场已大部分启用。[1]
文化[edit]
十七个经济社的入村道路都已硬底化，公共设施有小公园八个、灯光球场十一个、文体楼六个。医疗福利方面，村里2007年率先实行农村住院医疗二次报销（比例85%），2008年下半年起门诊也可报销。[1]
