番村是佛山市禅城区石湾镇街道下辖的行政村，在佛山大道以西、魁奇路北侧，全村面积0.7平方千米，下辖3个村民小组。[1]每年农历四月十三的「禾花宝诞」是村里延续百余年的民俗活动。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

番村原属魁南生产大队，1974年4月单独设立番村生产大队，归澜石人民公社，下面的三个生产队是联星（黎地）、红星（劳地、招地）和潘一（潘村）。1983年10月成立番村乡人民政府；1984年划入佛山市石湾区；到1987年3月，乡政府让位于村民委员会，由澜石镇管辖。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

村情介绍称，全村有680户，总人口2010人，党员70人，外来人口近5000人（该介绍未注明年份）。[2]村里早年办有建陶、五金模具、塑料制品等民营企业，后来依托「三旧」改造建起盛南新都、村民公寓和新华艺装饰材料物流城；物流城一期经营面积超过7万平方米，据称二期建成后总建筑面积将超过30万平方米。[2]

广东省乡村振兴局在2022年1月将番村列为2021年度乡村治理示范村的创建单位；2023年11月，村又进入广东「百千万工程」首批典型县镇村名单。[1]

文化[edit]

禾花诞据说源于三姐妹禾花娘娘护佑村民、化解械斗的传说，每年农历四月十三请法师做法事，村民舞狮，各家共进斋饭。[2]
