上窖社区是汕头市澄海区澄华街道的社区，原名玉窖，位于街道西侧，南临韩江支流西溪，现有500多户、2400多人。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

「窖」本作「滘」，指河道分支或汇合处；因位于外砂河与梅溪分支处的上游，与下窖相对，称上窖。[1] 社区简介称宋代有福建莆田人来此建村，以种水稻、地瓜、花生为主，耕地六百多亩；明代曾在此设营部，后多遭战乱，不少村民外出，散居各地和东南亚。[2]

经济与教育[edit]

村民后来转向工商业，规模以上企业有韩江机械公司（汕头市）与佳宜纺织两家；2010年工业总产值1.63亿元，集体收入60.47万元。[2] 九十年代在海外乡亲资助下兴建玉窖华侨学校，并设教育基金会。[2]

著名人物[edit]

澄海县第一位将军高祚辉中将出自上窖，曾任装甲兵部队司令员。[2]
