上埭社区是汕头市澄海区澄华街道的社区，前身为上埭村，位于澄海新市区西南，南临韩江，面积0.8平方千米。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

此地古时是韩江出海口，河沙淤成沙陇，居民筑堤围成埭田，因在美埭（原称尾埭）的上游，名上埭。[1][2] 博雅地名网的两处记载略有出入：简介称明代中叶（1560—1580年）福建莆田李姓迁来成村，历史沿革则称北宋末年福建南靖李姓人在此定居。[1][2] 1946年与冠山、上窖、下窖组成冠华乡；新中国成立后隶上华区，后属上华人民公社；1984年迁入澄城镇，1996年起归澄华街道，2002年首届社区选举后改称社区居委会。[1][2]

经济[edit]

2009年底有各类企业200多家，主要为塑料玩具、毛织服装、制鞋、五金模具等，年工业总产值5.8亿元。[2]
