澄华街道是广东省汕头市澄海区的街道，位于澄海中心城区的西侧，东邻凤翔街道，北接广益街道，西与上华镇相连，南隔外砂河与龙湖区外砂镇相望，辖10个社区，街道办事处设在文冠路中段。[1][2]

街道成立于1996年1月，由澄城镇的5个居委会与上华镇的3个村委会合并而成，名称各取「澄城」「上华」一字。[1][3] 辖区面积13.05平方千米，2020年第七次全国人口普查人口11.62万人。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

广东省人民政府于1996年1月24日批复同意撤销澄城镇，将其原有5个居委会同上华镇划出的3个村委会一起组建为澄华街道。[1] 街道的名字取自澄城镇与上华镇各一字。[3] 此后街道又增设华文、华冠两个社区，至2020年6月共辖10个社区。[1][3]

辖区内的城西社区一带，原是明嘉靖四十二年（1563年）设澄海县时的县治辟望所在。[4]

经济[edit]

据博雅地名网转录的街道概况，2000年全街道工业总产值为20.3亿元，辖区有工业企业1200多家，行业涵盖塑料、工艺、服装、五金、食品、毛织、印刷和茶叶加工八大门类；澄城中心市场是粤东规模较大的县级综合集贸市场，辖区另有澄华工业区，占地40公顷。[3] 2011年，街道农民人均纯收入6177元，一般预算财政收入1.5亿元。[1]

百度百科记载，2011年街道总人口59464人；博雅地名网引述的概况则称常住约7万余人，另有5万余名华侨和港澳台同胞旅居外地，是侨乡。[1][3] 维基百科记户籍人口5.3万人。[2] 各处口径和年份不同。

名胜古迹[edit]

街道内的冠山社区有神山风景区和冠山书院，神山是澄海古八景之一「冠山环翠」所在。[5]

著名人物[edit]

革命烈士许包野祖籍冠山（冠陇）；上窖社区出过澄海县第一位将军高祚辉。[5][6]
