广益街道是广东省汕头市澄海区下辖的街道，在澄海区北部，辖13个社区[3]，国道324线从境内穿过，区内设有汽车总站。1996年1月，澄城镇撤销，原镇的3个居民委员会与上华镇划出的8个村委会设立广益街道。[1][2][4]

历史沿革[edit]

澄海县于明嘉靖四十二年（1563）设立，县治在辟望，即今城北一带。[5]1996年1月24日，广东省人民政府批准撤销澄城镇，其区域和上华镇析出的冠山等11个管理区，各自改设凤翔、澄华、广益3个街道。其中龙田、峰下、华富、内陇、北陇、官湖、龙坑、上坑8村划归广益街道，冠山、下窖、上窖3村划归澄华街道。[4]

2002年前后，各管理区陆续改设社区，埔美社区为2002年设立；益兴、益盛两个社区在2015年起名。[5][7]

地理环境[edit]

博雅地名网载辖区面积约16.79平方千米，常住人口约10.22万人；同网另一页记载总面积16.32平方千米、人口4.4万人，数字年份不明，二者相差较大。[1][2]

经济[edit]

据博雅地名网的街道概况，东片区为商贸区，沿324线国道东侧建有澄海塑料城、花木市场、水果批发市场和粤海交通运输服务中心；中片区为广峰工业区，占地2000亩，铺有登峰路、华东路、广益路等主干道；西片区以农产品加工和旅游为主，规划“十八峰山花果带”。2000年国内生产总值5.15亿元，全街道有各类企业650多家。[2]澄海塑料城建于1998年，是澄海玩具产业的批发市场，包括玩具批发市场、中心货运站和国际玩具会展中心。[6]

名胜古迹[edit]

华富社区有华富的郑王墓，纪念祖籍澄海的泰国吞武里王朝国王郑信；官湖有科隆千树园；内陇有尼山老祖风景区；上坑有传说与宋末陆秀夫有关的接龙桥；龙田有建于明万历七年（1579年）的田宝塔；北陇的前林巷书斋是1939年上江东联区区委旧址。各处详见相应社区条目。[8][9][10][11][12][13]
