古埕社区位于汕头市潮南区井都镇的最东端，南临南海，隔海与潮阳区海门镇相望。面积8.18平方公里，共3275户、17877人。[1]沿海一片沙滩平坦如埕（晒场），因而叫古埕。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，宋端平年间（1234年至1236年），祖先从福建迁来定居。[2]明、清至民国初年属潮阳县黄陇都，1921年属潮阳县第九区。1950年归井都乡，人民公社时期为古埕大队，其后在1983年作古埕乡，到1986年改设居委会，1992年一度并入管理区，1999年复归旧制。[2]

经济[edit]

古埕是传统的渔业村。据该页所载，社区有81艘大马力渔机船和448条小马力渔船，从事捕捞的有1500多人。2009年的捕捞量约1.1万吨，产值约8000万元，这里也是潮南区目前仅有的海洋捕捞基地。另有养殖面积2500亩、水产品加工企业11家。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

社区四中队的正贤堂，抗日战争时期曾是潮阳青年抗日救亡同志会的古埕联络站，博雅地名网归入近现代重要史迹与代表性建筑一类。[2]
