凤东是汕头市潮阳区城南街道的社区，在练江下游海边，背山面海，丘陵地带，辖区5平方公里。它由凤岗乡分出，在凤岗之东，因此得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

南宋祥兴年间（1278至1279年）先民来此建村，名凤岗乡。解放初凤岗乡分设三个农会，凤东属第二分农会；此后凤东依次成为高级社（1955年后）、大队（1959年后）、村（1982年后）、乡政府（1989年后），1999年成立居委会。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

2009年社区总人口10280人，1850户，其中农业人口占10154人；主要种稻谷、蔬菜，当年集体收入24万元。2019年9月进入广东省2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单，2021年12月获2021年广东省卫生村称号。[1]
