沧洲是汕头市潮阳区城南街道的社区，在街道城乡结合部，与五仙、新宫、东内、大南相邻，辖区约2.98平方公里。因村里办过国营沧洲盐场而得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明洪武年间先民到此建村，以捕鱼和晒沙产盐为生；解放前称小南乡。1955年围海滩成盐埕，1958年升为国营盐场，称沧州盐场，以产盐高著称；1970年9月海门湾大闸建成，水源中断，盐场停产，改称沧州村，转向种养殖；1999年设沧州居委会。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

2009年总人口8149人，1424户，其中农业人口7925人。鱼池约2000多亩，养草鱼、福寿鱼、虾；有工业区一个，20多家中小企业做音像制品、塑料工艺、五金、印刷。当年工业产值达4200万元，农业产值为900万元。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

姚琛墓在社区的马后洋山界，属明代古墓葬，2010年3月22日被公布为汕头市文物保护单位。[2]
