东内是汕头市潮阳区城南街道的社区，在潮阳城区南部，处城乡结合部，辖区1420亩（含山林）。旧称洞内，因当地有一山洞而名，后来谐音雅化为今名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村子创于南宋嘉定年间，立寨后名洞内，后改东内。新中国成立后叫洞内村，1970年起称东内居委会，1988年改设管理区，1999年重新成立居委会。[1]

人口与荣誉[edit]

2009年社区常住人口2995人，605户，耕地37.1亩，林地300亩。社区获评区“六好”社区，2019年9月进入广东省2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单，2021年12月获2021年广东省卫生村称号。[1]
