口美是汕头市潮阳区城南街道的社区，在潮阳城区南部，处城乡结合部，辖区1.6平方公里，其中鱼塘450亩。它在东山山麓，原名岭口尾，后来雅称口美。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

最初叫领口尾，隶南熏乡。1962年以后因村民靠挡网捕鱼谋生，改叫挡网大队；之后改设口美管理区（1988年），再成立居委会（1999年）。[1]

人口与荣誉[edit]

2009年社区常住人口4595人，1004户，当年农业总产值3558万元。2019年9月进入广东省2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单，2021年12月获2021年广东省卫生村称号，2022年1月，它被省乡村振兴局列入2021年度乡村治理示范村的创建单位；2026年1月又获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」。[1]
