岗背是汕头市濠江区玉新街道下辖的社区，位于濠江西岸，河中路从村旁经过，办公地址在兴岗街6号。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村子创于元至正二十三年（1363年），因背靠山岗而得名，向来归潮阳县管。新中国成立初期，它是潮阳县河浦区第十三区的岗背大队；1983年改称乡，1994年成了玉新街道办事处下的村委会，1999年再改居委会。[1]

经济[edit]

据社区简介，全社区1250户、6082人，居民靠建筑业、首饰加工、纺织、玻璃和纸品工艺谋生，另有农业，益母草是特色作物。[1]

名胜古迹与荣誉[edit]

村西南小丘上的岗背摩崖石刻刻于宋代，2014年10月10日被列为汕头市文物保护单位。[2] 2019年9月，社区进入广东省2018年度“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位之列；2026年1月，又被评为广东省第二批“百千万工程”的典型村。[1]
