玉新街道是汕头市濠江区的一个街道，坐落在濠江西南岸：东面是马滘街道，南面是滨海街道，西面与潮阳区和河浦街道交界，北面隔着濠江，面积13平方千米，辖燎原、玉石、岗背、黎明、灯塔、下衙6个社区，街道办事处设在河中路段。[1][2]

1994年6月，汕头市河浦区设立时在此设置玉新街道办事处；2003年3月濠江区成立后，街道建制保持不变。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期，这里隶属潮阳县的招收都。进入民国后划入潮阳县第三区，新中国成立初期仍在其中；1952年改为第十一区，到1956年底又并入河浦乡。1958年下半年起，先后划给汕头市郊区的红旗、达农两个公社，1961年又重归潮阳县，属河浦公社辖地。[3]

1984年起归河浦区公所，1987年成了河浦镇的一部分。1994年6月，汕头市新设河浦区，玉新街道办事处随之成立；据各村的村史，市政府当年下发汕府函〔1994〕105号文，同意河浦区设三河、玉新、滨海三个街道办事处，原来的村改称村委会。1999年，全省调整农村基层管理体制，村委会随之改设为居委会。2003年3月13日河浦区、达濠区撤销，合并为濠江区，玉新街道仍然保留。[3][7]

经济[edit]

珠宝首饰的设计和加工是街道的传统产业，所在片区被市里列为“宝石专业镇”；据2008年前后的介绍，永桂宝石工艺公司是其中的骨干企业，原料采购到销售的各个环节在辖区内都能完成。农业方面，岗背、下衙两处蔬菜基地和岗背的益母草种植是特色。[2]

2008年全年，街道的工农业总产值为29474万元，工业占24022万元、农业占5452万元，工商税收762万元；当时的发展思路是以宝石首饰、电子电路、家具和服装为主，辅以特色农业和商贸。河浦大道、河中路和安海路三条主干道穿过辖区。[2]

据百度百科，2011年末街道常住人口为21552人，当年工业产值65733万元、农业产值约6755万元，农民人均纯收入5156元。同一条目称，2023年全街道规上工业产值为26.79亿元，当年固定资产投资2.61亿元，预制菜、现代农业为特色产业，辖区内有澳士兰牧场，岗背的益母草种植基地是省级基地，“赤沙蚶”是当地品牌；深汕高速公路穿过辖区。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

岗背摩崖石刻刻于宋代，位于岗背社区西南的小丘上，汕头市于2014年10月10日将它列为市级文物保护单位。[4]

玉石玄帝古庙在玉石村，是明代建筑，2010年3月22日被列为汕头市文物保护单位。[5]

百度百科提到，辖区内还有赤沙渡西庵、黄百万故居，以及宋代的叠石仔碑刻和元代的杏坛石碑；下衙社区的介绍也提到“赤沙渡西庵”是当地的历史文化古迹。[1][6]
