河北社区位于汕头市濠江区西北侧，隶属河浦街道，是原河浦乡北部的村落，宋嘉定年间（1208—1224年）建村。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村东北临濠江，沿水的低地叫浦，起初称濠浦，因「濠」「河」读音接近，改叫河浦村。1954年农业合作化时拆分出河北农业社，1961年并为生产大队，1968年成立河北革命委员会，1986年设河北居委会，归河浦镇；1994年起先后属三河街道和河浦街道。名称因村在原河浦乡北部而来。[2][3]

地理环境[edit]

社区面积约10平方千米，有耕地2000多亩、山地6000多亩、养殖池500多亩。[1]

人口民族[edit]

合计10027人、1833户，其中农业户口9821人，居民户口206人；社区分成6个管理小区。[1]

经济[edit]

集体收入来自养殖基地的虾池出租和市场菜档出租，年纯收入50多万元。[1]2017年10月，河北社区被广东省爱国卫生运动委员会列入第一批广东省卫生村。[1]
