盐埕社区在汕头老城区，隶属金平区小公园街道，设立时归同益街道。辖区面积约0.1平方千米。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

这里历史上靠海，“盐埕头”是一处古盐场，清代范围一直延伸到华坞一带，“华坞晴雪”是澄海县古八景之一，社区以这一地标性的历史地名定名。[1]

2002年，由原盐埕居委会、永同居委会和民生居委会的部分辖区合并而成；2003年汕头行政区划调整后归金平区同益街道。[1]2019年，新福、永祥、海安、同益四个街道并入新设的小公园街道，社区随之改隶。[2]

社区概况[edit]

辖区内有基督教市西堂、天主教堂，以及广东省文物保护单位广东东江各属行政委员公署旧址，另有汕头市第二中学和外马路第三小学，主干道有民权路、中山路、利安北路和外马路。[1]
