南海社区在汕头老城区，隶属金平区小公园街道，设立时归海安街道。辖区面积约0.135平方千米。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

辖区内有南海路，社区因此得名。[1]

此前归升平区南海街道管辖；2002年1月，原南海、南海横两个居委会合并为南海居委会，其后在2003年3月的区划调整中划入海安街道。海安街道办事处曾设在本社区。[1]2019年，新福、永祥、海安、同益四个街道并入新设的小公园街道，社区随之改隶。[2]

辖区内有市总工会和汕头海关钟楼，包装印刷、文具纸品是主要工业，主干道有南海路、南海横路和跃进路。[1]
