福祥社区在汕头老城区，隶属金平区小公园街道，设立时归新福街道。辖区面积约0.14平方千米。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
“福祥”取幸福祥和之意，辖区内又有福祥住宅小区，社区因此得名。[1]
此前归升平区福合街道管辖；2002年，原镇平、瑞平、新洪三个居委会合并为福祥居委会，其后在2003年3月的区划调整中划入金平区新福街道。新福街道办事处曾设在本社区。[1]2019年，新福、永祥、海安、同益四个街道并入新设的小公园街道，社区随之改隶。[2]
社区概况[edit]
社区经营旧货小商品、干鲜果和海产品。辖区内的胡文虎大楼位于民族路69号，原为永安堂制药厂旧址，始建于1927年，2010年5月公布为汕头市第四批文物保护单位；创办人胡文虎是南洋华侨商人、报业家和慈善家。[3][4]
