海平社区在汕头老城区，隶属金平区小公园街道，设立时归永祥街道。辖区面积约0.11平方千米。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

海平路穿过辖区，社区因路得名。[1]

2002年，由原上海平、下海平两个居委会合并成立，其后在2003年3月的区划调整中划入金平区永祥街道。[1]2019年，新福、永祥、海安、同益四个街道并入新设的小公园街道，社区随之改隶。[2]

社区概况[edit]

社区临近礐石大桥，西面靠永泰码头和四码头，辖区内设有水产品市场、水果批发市场，以及五金配包、轻工进出口、渔网进出口等经营单位。[1]
