西堤社区在汕头老城区，隶属金平区小公园街道，设立时归永祥街道。辖区面积约0.15平方千米。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

居委会处在市区最西端，临近海边堤围，又靠西堤路，因此得名。[1]

2002年经上级批准设立，当时隶属升平区，其后在2003年3月的区划调整中划入金平区永祥街道。[1]2019年，新福、永祥、海安、同益四个街道并入新设的小公园街道，社区随之改隶。[2]

社区概况[edit]

位于汕头市区通往礐石大桥的出入口一带，毗邻粤东水产市场，水产批发是主要行业；辖区内有西堤公园和1860文化创意园，主干道为西堤路和安平路。[1]
