蓬洲西社区是汕头市金平区鮀江街道西北侧的社区，原蓬洲所城西部，辖区面积约0.172平方千米，办公地在蓬洲学校路5号。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，明洪武二年（1369年）朝廷在厦岭设蓬洲守御千户所，洪武二十七年（1394年）迁到西埕。嘉靖年间（1522年—1566年），翁万达奏请军民同城而居，周边村落的居民陆续迁入，称蓬洲所城。新中国成立后蓬洲村先后属澄海县、汕头市郊区、升平区，设蓬洲大队、乡政府和居委会。1997年10月28日体制改革，蓬洲分为东、西、南、北四个居委会，此社区即以其方位命名，起初属龙泉街道，2001年起归鮀江街道。[1]

地理环境[edit]

东到蓬洲大街，南到蓬南安臣巷和蓬洲学校路，北到蓬霞西街和行东路，西至桑浦山鹧鸪山麓，庵揭公路和鮀济河自北向南穿过。鮀浦中心学校和广东省地质大队都在辖区内。[1]

人口民族[edit]

据博雅地名网，有650户、3218人，其中农业户口1127人、非农业户口2091人，党员87人。[1]

经济[edit]

耕地175亩，自留地76亩，企业用地52亩，另有山林1214亩；租赁户和企业合计六十家左右；居民多外出务工、经商，或从事运输、建筑。社区设有经济联合社。[1]

文化[edit]

2017年10月获「第一批广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
