蓬洲南社区是汕头市金平区鮀江街道下辖的社区，原蓬洲所城南部，区域面积0.16平方千米，办公地在庵揭公路11号。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，明洪武二年（1369年）朝廷在厦岭设蓬洲守御千户所，洪武二十七年（1394年）迁到西埕。嘉靖年间（1522年—1566年），翁万达奏请军民同城而居，周边村落的居民陆续迁入，称蓬洲所城。新中国成立后蓬洲村先后属澄海县、汕头市郊区、升平区，设蓬洲大队、乡政府和居委会。1997年10月28日体制改革，蓬洲分为东、西、南、北四个居委会，此社区即以其方位命名，起初属龙泉街道，2001年起归鮀江街道。[1]

地理环境[edit]

位于金平区西端，西靠桑浦山龙泉岩，南临大学路，庵揭公路和南干渠穿过。[1]

人口民族[edit]

据博雅地名网，有704户、3324人，农业人口为1341人，非农业人口1983人，另有党员93人。[1]

经济[edit]

有山地1105亩，土地225亩，集体收入主要来自自留用地和零星土地的出租、承包。[1]
