夏趾社区是汕头市金平区鮀江街道下辖的涉农社区，1997年10月由原鮀东居委分出设立，办公地在鮀中路南段。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此地南宋时为商埠，设鮀浦水寨，明清属澄海县鮀江都，起初称鮀浦，后因在鮀浦镇东面改称鮀东。1996年12月鮀浦镇建制撤销，1997年10月鮀东居委一分为四，各以鮀东原有的片名为名，夏趾即原鮀东的夏趾片。社区名取自辖区内的夏趾古庙。后随鮀浦街道并入鮀江街道（2001年），2003年属金平区。[1]

地理环境[edit]

区域面积515484平方米，东邻桥头，西接鮀莲街道玉井居委，南到南灌渠，北靠木坑；山地近854亩；土地223亩，内含耕地88亩、水田18亩、鱼池17亩，以及100亩集体自留用地。[1]

人口民族[edit]

辖区有各类企业近十家，集体收入靠厂房、铺面、农贸市场、鱼池等出租；居民多从事个体工商、运输、建筑、手工业和务工。[1]
